Cross-Team Collaboration

Challenge

Disruptors like Turo and Zipcar were stealing customers away from the traditional car rental market by changing consumers expectations and standards. As the leader in the business, it was eating away at Enterprise Rent-a-Car's profits.

My Role

I worked closely with Design Strategists and UX Designers to verify the identified user needs were being met in the final UI Designs. I designed the reservation check-out flow, loyalty rewards program, and system alerts.

growth in YoY site revenue, totaling $3.2 billion

UX Design

By continuously collaborating with Design Strategists and UX Designers I was able to have a deep understanding of the users’ needs and the reasons behind the design requirements.

UI Design

The low-fidelity wireframes required improvements to layout and hierarchy as well as visuals, interactivity, and animations. This was done within the bounds of the branding guidelines and our established design system.

By partnering with engineers, I verified the designs were feasible within the project constraints and represented the users’ needs during hand-off conversations.

Learnings

By partnering so closely with Design Strategists and UX Designers, I learned to love that part of the process. This project was the beginning of my journey into end-to-end design.

Successes

The team identified users’ booking features that were previously minimized or non-existent that we were able to prioritize in the new design.

After launch, the Enterprise Rent-a-Car website saw a YoY revenue increase of 26%, which was $3.2 billion.
